If a guy is interested in me or not..?

I've been talking to this kid, and we hit it off really well. We seem to share alot of common things and we flirt in a very nonchalant way. He makes a few comments like "you seem different than most girls, even better" and when we play little questionaire games he will involve me in them by saying like oh if i was on an island i would bring you, yada yada, i know it sounds childish, but still, hinting, right? But he has hinted that he wants to hangout with me, and we've brought up alot of things we want to hangout and do. But he asked me if i wanted to see a movie saturday, and he is driving like fourty five minutes to come see me, and he wants to see the movie with me at night, just us two. So would that be considered a date? I don't expect him to like like me or anything, but do you think he is at least interested? He always says some flirty lines to be, but in a very mellow way.
